About Us !!

We are very excited about the newly formed Queensland Palouse Pony starting their own group, to better the breed in Queensland.


The Committee  behind us are boundless , we are planning on a few exciting events in the upcoming months , so keep an eye out.

 Three major shows a year, Queensland State Show, Champagne Classic Halter Show and a Young Stock Show. Fun days and lots more, to keep the Palouse Pony in the Public eye.


Our planning Committee programs out the year, putting out a monthly News Chatter for our members, to keep them informed of coming Social events and Clinics.

You dont have to have a registered Palouse to join our membership, just enthusiasm for the Palouse Pony, We take registrations if you are 14hh and under, of Appaloosa colouring from a tiny 8hh up, all are welcome. We will cater special classes for Pony Club ponies, and we also have classes for Pintaloosa?s, Pinto's , dilutes , blacks , bays & chestnuts.

The Palouse pony is a versatile pony for the whole family, and his varied coloured combinations make him a stand out star in any show ring. He has a nice kind disposition, making him easy to handle and show.

We have end of year high point awards for: HALTER ROM, TRAIL ROM, SHOWMANSHIP ROM, GAMES ROM, and RIDDEN ROM. Certificates of Achievement, and Encouragement, end of year awards.



The Palouse Pony Association was formed in 1974, of which we are affiliated. Ponies where Imported from the USA, P.O.A's, Ponies of the America's, with a recent Import a few years ago to Dubbo.


The name was taken from the Nez Perce Indians in the Palouse River region, and it was decided that the name Palouse be adapted, that the pony should show style, substance, beauty and symmetry, showing a disposition to be handled, trained and entered into competition by both adults, senior and junior youths.

In recent years the Miniature Size Palouse pony has come to popularity, with the rise in Miniature Associations that he can be registered with, clearly showing that he is a very versatile pony.


The Palouse Pony comes in many colour coat patterns. Leopard, Snowcap, Few Spot, Blanket, Frost, Snowflake the list goes on, every pony has its own distinct markings, making him the ideal show pony to catch the Judges eye.
